nMake sure the main
power cord is connected to a power outlet and the switch is on!
nThe Power switch (1) on
the microscope is a red wheel on right side of the base. It slides with a
click to turn on, and you can rotate it further to control the intensity of
light.
nThe small black knob
(2) raises or lowers the condenser. You can gently turn the knob to try this.
nThe focusing knobs (3)
are located on both sides of the microscopes. Do NOT turn them until you are familiar with all the features of the
microscope.
nOn the condenser locate
the thin ring (4). Turning it controls the amount of light – this is done by
an iris diaphragm inside the condenser.
nThe two knobs (5) move
the stage – side-to-side and front-to-back.
nTwo clips on the stage
(6) hold the slide on the stage.
