Objectives
nObserve how close the high power (40x) objective is to the stage when in position. The scanner (4x) is the farthest.
nThis means that when using the 40x objective, one has to be extremely careful in using the focusing knobs. Never use the coarse adjustment (outer) knob when using the 40x objective. Even slight movement can cause the slide to hit the lens. An objective lens is expansive, and a damaged slide may be irreplaceable.
nOnce again, remember to use the ring to turn the nose piece!
